How the assessment works
The Planaletix Engineering Analytics & Technology Foundations Maturity Assessment (ATF) evaluates how an AEC firm measures its business and the technology it runs on, across twenty dimensions in two parts. Part A measures engineering analytics: analytics strategy and governance, the data foundation, project performance dashboards, design productivity and resource analytics, estimation and bid analytics, forecasting and predictive analytics, model and BIM data analytics, commercial and portfolio analytics, the analytics platform and self-service, and whether analytics actually changes decisions. Part B measures technology foundations: IT strategy and governance, engineering workstations and VDI, cloud and compute, network and connectivity, software licensing and vendor management, cybersecurity operations, identity and access management, IT support, the business systems landscape, and IT cost and value.
Most AEC firms can tell you what they spend on software and hardly anyone can tell you what it returns. Dashboards multiply while decisions are still made on instinct, and the technology estate grows while ransomware groups target the sector. The ATF measures whether the firm's analytics drive decisions and whether its technology foundation is governed, secure and worth what it costs.

Frequently asked questions
We already have Power BI dashboards — do we need this?
Dashboards are one dimension. The assessment measures whether the numbers are governed and trusted, and whether they change decisions in gate reviews, bids and resourcing.
Is this an IT audit?
No. It is a maturity assessment of analytics and technology as business capabilities. It points to where an audit or a security assessment is needed, but it measures governance, adoption and value rather than configuration.
Who should answer the questions?
Typically the COO, CFO or IT Director, ideally after consulting analytics, security and project-controls leads. Answers save automatically.
How long does it take?
150–180 minutes for the full 20 dimensions; less where firm-type scoping reduces the set. It can be completed over several sessions.

The report is generated in your browser. Answers and scores are stored in Planaletix's secured assessment record for your engagement and are never shared.
